The new list of goods for the CDNI came into force on 1 January 2018.

An expert group, in close consultation with the recognised organisations, drew up the revised unloading standards. They represent a considerable simplification compared to the current unloading standards, by providing only one unloading standard for nearly all substances.
The WaSTo electronic tool for unloading standards (Waste Standards Tool) has been online since the summer of 2017.
The 2018 edition of the Convention is also available online.
